Yes, travelers, tourists, short term visitors can drive in Singapore for up to 12 months from the date of your entry into Singapore, as long as you:
- are 18+ years old and
- have a valid foreign driving licence and
- have an International Driving Permit (IDP)
If you are from ASEAN countries, you can drive in Singapore with your foreign driving licence without International Driving Permit.
You need to possess an official translation of your foreign driving licence in English if an IDP is not available.
However, I don’t think it’s necessary for travelers to drive in Singapore. Singapore is a tiny state, it’s not like in U.S. or China or Europe, self-driving is always first choice when travelling, you can explore at your own pace and stop wherever you like. In Singapore, you drive 30 minutes and you are in Malaysia already.
Also, public transport in Singapore is pretty convenient and affordable.
Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, and long term visitors like workers, students, must possess a valid Singapore Driving Licence, to drive legally in Singapore.
Foreigners can convert their Foreign Driving Licence to a Singapore Driving Licence.
